Pokemon Logic question?

You know how when you battle team rocket, or whatever evil team there is, you beat them and their like "awwhhh ****!!! are pokemon are defeated, we cant stop you", even though your a little kid and they could simply overpower you. Why didn't they just whoop your *** without their pokemon. They are grown *** adults! Simply could of beat your *** with their fists!!! Never made sense as a kid.
