Does the whooping cough shot hurt?

K, so I have to get the whooping shot shot on Fri. Cause it is now mandatory for all students 7-12 grade in CA to get the shot. Does it hurt?? I haven't gotten a shot since 5th grade (I'm going into 8th now). In 5th grade I had surgery from appendicitis and I had like 2 or 3 IVs going into my wrist. I ALMOST DIED!! lol. Will it hurt more than this, cause it didn't really hurt at all. On a scale from 1-10 how much does the shot hurt?? Thnx!!
